"Vive Colombia, Viaja por Ella" (Enjoy Colombia, Travel Through it), is a promotion of the Vice-Ministry of Tourism. The following is the calendar of holidays of April and May 2008. The join of three holidays, always on weekends, are called in Colombia as "Puentes":

30th April to 5th May: 

• Work International Day. 
• The 41rst Vallenato Festival in Valledupar.

April 23 - 30 and May 1 - 5:

• 21rst International Festival of the Book in Bogotá.

May 3 - 5:

• Festivities of the Ascension of the Lord.

May 31 - June 2:

•  Holidays of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
• "Mono Núñez" Festival of Music.

May 24 - 26:

• "Corpus Christi" Festivities.
